Matrix sees record year-end increase in revenue

Chief operating officer Kevin Hooper said: “The growth has come across the board and not one specific area - competition, employment, crime and public work are all up on last year.”

Hooper added that the set’s investment in organic growth had resulted in a number of members “coming of age” in the last year and being instructed on higher value cases.

Historically, Matrix has requested members pay an average of 20 per cent in chambers contributions. As a result of the turnover rise Hooper said that would now be reduced to 17.5 per cent.

Matrix turnover has flatlined for the last two financial years, increasing by 1.5 per cent to £13.6m at the 2008-09 year-end from £13.5m a year earlier.
