This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Matheson Ormsby Prentice managing partner Donal Roche is set to step down at the end of the year. He will be replaced by head of tax Liam Quirke, who was selected unanimously by the partnership this summer. Quirke will retain a fee-earning role and continue as head of tax.
Roche, who has transformed the firm over the past 10 years, is already handing over the reins of power. His replacement was appointed unopposed without the need for a formal election.
In the 1990s, Quirke established the firm's rated tax practice with a view to competing not just with other law firms, but also with Ireland's big four accountants; it is now one of the undisputed leaders in the field.
