While solicitors are trying to get one up on each other over which firm can be the most carbon-neutral, Tulkinghorn wondered what the bar was doing to go green.
Tulkinghorn has been reliably informed that the Bar Council has given a couple of suggestions in its 'Guidance to the Bar' handbook.
Flick to the green issues section and it recommends to chambers and barristers that one way of helping the environment would be to use recycled, two-ply loo roll, which has not led to trees being cut down in rainforests.
Why two-ply instead of one? Well apparently, after much debate, it was decided that for reasons of comfort the former should be suggested.
That's what Tulkinghorn calls a 'cracking' piece of research.
