London firm Jeffrey Green Russell (JGR) is losing a corporate and commercial information technology partner to Masons.
Jon Fell joins Masons' IT department this week, with the aim of improving the group's e-commerce focus.
Masons' IT partner Clive Seddon says: "IT is very much a focus of this firm and he did not feel it was a focus at JGR in the same way."
However, JGR company and commercial partner Tony Coles says his firm is committed to IT.
He adds that JGR has five partners specialising in e-commerce law.
Fell becomes the seventh IT partner in Masons' London office.
His appointment follows that of former Bird Semple partner John Salmon to Masons' Glasgow office two months ago to specialise in e-commerce law. Masons' Leeds office lost assistant Jessica Hendrie-Liano to Stock Exchange-listed internet service provider Freeserve, where she is now in-house counsel, two months ago.
