Dublin firm Mason Hayes & Curran has continued its rapid growth with two lateral hires in less than a month.
Financial services partner Christine O'Donovan joined the firm at the end of August from A&L Goodbody, while well-known securities and M&A specialist Justin McKenna, currently at competitor LK Shields, is due to arrive in a fortnight.
Both hires are coups for Mason Hayes. O'Donovan is an asset finance specialist who spent three years in-house at GE Capital Aviation before joining A&L. Her arrival represents a new strategic step for the firm. It already has a solid banking and investment funds practice, but has no asset finance or leasing capability until now.
McKenna, seen as the higher profile partner of the two, will be the sixth partner in Mason Hayes' corporate team.
Two high-profile partner moves within such a short space of time are unusual in Dublin and may represent an increasing fluidity in the local legal market. Sources close to Mason Hayes say they see it as a confirmation of aggressive growth strategy and its ambition to have the leading corporate and securities practice in Dublin.
