Meanwhile, Pinsents will advise Plymouth on governance and health-related issues.
Historically, Plymouth’s annual legal spend has been around £400,000 to £500,000.
Martineau’s head of education Paul Pharaoh and partner John Rice led the teams which secured the contracts.
In a separate move Martineu’s has also won the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and St Anne’s College, Oxford as new clients. The Birmingham-based firm will advise St Anne’s on the financing of a capital project and SOAS on specialist student issues.
