Maples boosts BVI with litigation coup

Cayman Islands-headquartered firm Maples and Calder has bolstered its British Virgin Islands (BVI) office with the hire of Arabella di Iorio as local head of litigation. Di Iorio, a specialist in corporate, professional negligence and trusts work, joins from the Bermuda office of offshore rival Appleby Hunter Bailhache, where she was counsel in the commercial litigation team. The hire comes two years after Maples launched in the BVI with the acquisition of local law firm Smith-Hughes Raworth & McKenzie.
