Offshore firm Maples and Calder has promoted finance and capital markets associate Stacey Overholt to the partnership.
At the same time, the firm has further bolstered its London office with the hire of six associates.
They are: Oliver Goodwin joins from Ogier; Jack Mariott joins from Nabarro; Jessica Stock and Sarah MacLachlan both join from New Zealand firm Buddle Findlay; Robert Drysdale has moved from Conyers Dill & Pearman; and Mathew Bishop joins from -Kensington Swan in New Zealand.
Commenting on the expansion, London managing partner Charles Jennings said: “London’s pre-eminence as a global financial centre makes it one of the firm’s key markets. The office has grown steadily since it opened a decade ago, however in the last 12 months we have seen a significant surge in demand and have responded to meet our clients’ needs."
Overholt, who specialises in structured finance and capital markets transactions, joined Maples and Calder's capital markets practice in the Cayman Islands in 2000, before moving to the London office in 2006.
