DLA Piper, Eversheds and Pannone have been appointed to the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) legal panel.
The three firms, appointed by GMPTE secretary and solicitor Moira Suringar, will advise on key transport projects in the city, including the £640m expansion and upgrade of the region’s light rail network, Metrolink.
GMPTE implements the policies of Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority, which oversees the provision of public transport in the county.
GMPTE director Urvashi Bramwell said: “There’s a great deal of complex work ahead of us. We’re investing a huge amount of money in Greater Manchester’s public transport system over the next few years and it’s vital that we have the legal support needed for these projects."
GMPTE is also bidding for future funding to continue the expansion of the Metrolink to various localities, including Manchester Airport.
DLA project finance partner Peter Rout, Eversheds corporate partner Edward Pysden and Pannone head of public sector Udo Pope are the firms’ relationship partners for the panel.
