This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) will train all lawyers employed by the Co-operative Legal Services (CLS) in a newly-created legal academy.
From September this year, 200 employees from new recruits to senior managers will train at MMU. According to the CLS, one of the UK’s most prominent alternative business structures (ABS), the training will be much more flexible than traditional legal education.
As well as covering legal academic training from apprenticeships to postgraduate qualifications, the academy will also train staff who want to move from legal roles into management or business support roles, like HR or marketing.
The academy will allow staff to join a career path at different points, providing a solution for career changers or mature graduates, and allows staff to move across different disciplines within the company so as not to be restricted to one specialism.
