Manchester firm turns on to £100,000 system

Manchester law firm Betesh Fox & Co has switched on its recently installed £100,000 computer system.

The system, put in place by Solicitec Legal Systems, is a comprehensive case management system based on a database, diary system and volumes of precedent documents tailored for Betesh's main personal injury and medical negligence departments.

The system will be used by all fee earners in the personal injury and medical negligence department and combines Betesh's previous accounts and time recording system with email, access to the Internet and a faxing facility. The system also provides fee earners with portable modems so they can work at home.

According to Neil Sugarman, Betesh Fox head of personal injury, the system is designed to meet practice management standards, Legal Aid Board franchise requirements and PI requirements.

"It is the first comprehensive case management system for those particular fields of work," said Sugarman. "It will improve supervision techniques, enable fee earners to do their own document protection and generally increase the proficiency of the file."



A new information service on UK charities has been launched on the Internet by Hemmington Scott, publishers of The Henderson Top 2000 Charities.
