Leading Manchester set 40 King Street has appointed a solicitor as its first chambers director.
Guy Davison was taken on to manage 40 King Street and spin-off 5 Park Place in Leeds, a set that specialises in chancery and planning law.
He worked for Deacons in Hong Kong as a solicitor before practising at law firm TGC in Poland.
As chambers director, Davison is responsible for administration, finance, business development, marketing and strategic planning.
Davison says the set is looking at its image to see whether it would be possible to give the Manchester and Leeds branches a single corporate identity under bar rules. He says: "Branding is key. Barristers' chambers name themselves after a street."
He also wants to reduce the number of debtor days, the period of grace the set gives to clients that owe fees.
