Manches has acquired the bulk of seven-partner City firm Marshall Ross & Prevezer, which has dissolved its partnership.
A total of 25 staff, including four partners and eight assistants, joined Manches on 28 November. The firm is best known for property, but also handles corporate and asset finance-based litigation.
Founding partners Mark Prevezer and Richard Marshall have joined Manches, along with corporate partner Keith Dempster and property partner Christian Taylor. The deal will add around £2.5m to Manches' turnover, which last year stood at £23.5m.
Among Marshall Ross's highest-profile clients is British American Tobacco, for which it handles all real estate work. The firm has rebranded as 'Manches, incorporating Marshall Ross & Prevezer'.
Manches has been on a hiring spree during the past year, with recent arrivals including property partner Graham Atkins from Davenport Lyons, property litigation partner Neil Benson from Howard Kennedy and technology partner David Schollenberger from Charles Russell. The firm has taken additional space at its Aldwych office and is anticipating a rise in average profit next year of between 15 and 20 per cent (currently £195,000).
