Management rejig sees new look White & Case

White & Case’s London office has unveiled the results of its management overhaul, creating the post of chief operating partner for the first time. As revealed by The Lawyer (20 September), Neil Upton, who joined the US firm’s London office two years ago, will take on the newly-created role. His remit will cover the day-to-day running of the office as well as business development. Upton will be assisted by a chief operating officer who has yet to be appointed, but who is expected to be a non-lawyer. The firm has also its new ‘strategy committee’, replacing the executive committee which was implemented just over a year ago. First revealed on www.thelawyer.com 11 October
