Cardiff corporate boutique M&A Solicitors is set to launch a consultancy in a bid to capitalise on the boom in public sector work in Wales
The consultancy, which will be separate from, but allied to, the law firm, will be called Public Trust Partner-ship (PTP).
It will be run by M&A Solicitors partner Roy Thomas, who joined the firm last year after nine years as legal director of the Welsh Development Agency. The other four partners of the law firm - Stephen Berry, Rachelle Sellek, Robert Twigg and Alan Whiteley - will also become directors of PTP.
Thomas said: "M&A is purely private sector, whereas PTP will serve the public sector; but there'll be crossover from private to public, particularly working on PFI projects. We've already done some work in the PFI field in the private sector with Capita."
PTP will advise clients such as the Royal Mint and paper company UPM-Kymmene, which has a plant in North Wales, on a variety of regulatory issues.
