Maitland brings in new chief exec from 7 Bedford Row

Maitland Chambers has poached 7 Bedford Row's Robert Graham-Campbell, making him its new chief executive.

Graham-Campbell joins Maitland in January, nearly a year after the previous incumbent Peter Bennett announced his departure for Bates Wells & Braithwaite.

As first revealed on www.the lawyer.com (1 September), joint head of chambers Charles Aldous said: "Robert's commercial experience will enable us to drive our business forward and consolidate our position among the leading sets of chambers in the UK."

Graham-Campbell was 7 Bedford Row's first-ever chief executive, joining five years ago from healthcare services group Rood Lane Medical Group, where he was director of business development.

He told The Lawyer: "I'm very sad to leave because I've really enjoyed it. I'm proud of what we've achieved."
7 Bedford Row's turnover has risen by 62 per cent in the past five years and it has formed a successful alliance with Jersey's BakerPlatt to carry out offshore and international work.

Meanwhile, Maitland has successfully bedded down two mergers, the most recent with 9 Old Square in 2004.
