The firm is relocating corporate partner Alastair Wyper to Aberdeen to head up the new office, which is due to open on Monday (14 April). Wyper will be joined by senior corporate lawyers Neil Burgess and Shauna Powell.
Maclays chief executive Magnus Swanson said: "This move is a positive response to client needs in the north-east and changes taking place in the marketplace. Aberdeen fits well with our growth strategy and enables us to build upon our many existing clients and contacts operating in the north-east."
Maclays currently has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Brussels.
