*Figures supplied relate to the calendar yearMaclay Murray & Spens appointed five partners (three promotions and two laterals) across a variety of disciplines in 2006-07. Last year the firm promoted four lawyers to partner and it made no laterals, a stark contrast with 2004-05, when it a bolted on six corporate partners from City Law Partnership. This year appointments have been spread more evenly, with two partners brought in from outside and three of its own promoted.
One of the five new partners was a woman who was brought in to reinforce the firm’s City office.
