The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Ginbey is only Macfarlanes’ second lateral partner hire in seven months, coming after head of international benefits Jane Marshall joined the firm from Hammonds in June 2006.
The firm made no lateral hires during the 2005-06 financial year, but promoted six associates to the partnership.
As first reported in The Lawyer (22 January), Macfarlanes has decided to concentrate its hiring policy at the junior end of the scale, preferring to enlarge its trainee ranks rather than bringing in lateral hires.
Ginbey brings particular expertise in airports and retail and leisure projects. Roughly six fee-earners work on public law matters at Macfarlanes, including environmental partner Paul Davies and property partner Andrew Jackson.
Ginbey said: “I am excited about joining Macfarlanes, it’s a great firm. With its recognised strengths in real estate and corporate the opportunities are terrific.”
