Macfarlanes has scooped a Clifford Chance structured finance partner as it looks to bolsters its debt capital markets and acquisition finance offering.
Rachel Kelly, who joins the firm on Monday, has been a partner at Clifford Chance for 14 years, playing a key role in developing the magic circle firm’s structured finance and debt capital markets practices. Her focuses include debt securitisation, structured repackagings and principal finance.
Kelly said:“This is an exciting time in the debt markets with opportunities to do complex work for a variety of financial institutions, funds, investors and corporate clients. Macfarlanes offers an excellent platform to do this and I look forward to working closely with the outstanding finance, tax, funds, regulatory and corporate transactional lawyers at the firm.”
Macfarlanes senior partner Charles Martin said: “[Rachel] will play a pivotal role in ensuring that we’re able to meet the clear demand from our existing clients for structured finance and debt capital markets capability.
“This is a good example of a strategic lateral hire that will play to our existing strengths.”
