Matthew Arnold & Baldwin (MAB) has hired Jay Das as a partner and planning and environment head from Beachcroft's planning team, where she was an associate.
It comes as the firm aims to grow its London office with the lateral hire of Russell Jones & Walker head of family Jeremy Abraham (The Lawyer, 10 December 2007).
Richard Gerstein, head of MAB's construction and property litigation group, said: "We have plans to grow the London office, and commercial property and private client are the two main growth areas in London at the moment."
The Watford-based firm opened two new offices in the last two years in London and Milton Keynes. Gerstein said infrastructure investment had begun to show returns and that the London hires supported the firm's growth.
