Indian firm Luthra & Luthra has scooped a four-lawyer team from Indian IP specialist firm Anand & Anand.
The IP and entertainment team is led by Anand partner Ameet Datta, and includes senior associates Mohit Lahoty and Himanshu Bagai and associate Thomas George.
The team has joined Luthra & Luthra’s IP team in Delhi, bringing the department to a total of two partners and 10 lawyers. The firm also has three lawyers in Bombay and one in Bangalore.
Luthra & Luthra managing partner Rajiv Luthra said: “I’m thrilled to have Ameet as part of the family. He and the other three lawyers add an amazing strength to our current capabilities.”
Rajiv Luthra added that Luhtra & Luthra would now be looking to grow its patents expertise, as the majority of its strength is currently in pure IP and trademarks.
Datta said: “We look forward to taking advantage of the great cross-disciplinary synergies that are present at Luthra & Luthra. Our aim is to assist our client in more efficiently leveraging their assets.”
Anand & Anand has a heavy focus on IP with around 65 lawyers, including around 11 partners.
Anand & Anand’s managing partner Pravin Anand declined to comment on Datta’s departure but said that the firm was constantly replenishing its talent.
