LUPC unveils legal services panel firms

The London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) has named 13 firms on its legal services panel.

Firms on the three-year framework, expected to be worth up to £30m, include Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, Bates Wells & Braithwaite, Farrer & Co and Michelmores.

Some 30 firms tendered for places on the new panel, which will serve more than 60 members, including higher and further education institutions, museums and libraries in London.

The framework is designed to offer LUPC members improved rates. It includes specialist lots for employment, commercial and medical matters, as well as a one-stop shop, whereby a firm can provide all legal services.

Mills & Reeve was the only firm appointed to provide advice across every lot.

LUPC director Andy Davies said: “This result demonstrates the benefits that can be achieved through collaborative procurement, and we look forward to working with the successful firms to deliver these benefits.”
