Loyens & Loeff launches new practice in Luxembourg with A&O hires

Benelux corporate and tax firm Loyens & Loeff has taken two assistants from Allen & Overy to launch a new practice in Luxembourg with former Arendt & Medernach partner Jean-Pierre Winandy.
The firm’s Belgian legal arm, Loyens Advocaten-Avocats, has formed a partnership with Winandy. The new Luxembourg practice will operate under the name of Loyens Winandy. In addition to hiring the two associates from Allen & Overy, Loyens & Loeff expects to add a further team of attorneys specialising in corporate, investment funds and banking and finance in the next few weeks. Negotiations are ongoing.
The existing international tax practice of Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg will continue as it is. The Loyens Winandy law firm will add a range of integrated legal services, mainly to corporate and financial clients and investment funds.
