Lovells has completed a radical overhaul of its central management by slashing its international executive and reconfiguring its international operations committee (IOC).
The executive, which is chaired by managing partner David Harris, has been reduced from 14 to 11 members to facilitate more effective decision-making on strategic issues. Meanwhile, the IOC, which is chaired by chief operating officer Nick Cray, has taken on additional responsibilities that were previously handled by the executive.
Harris said: "My aim has been to free up our international executive so that it focuses more on business strategy and is in the best position to drive the firm's development over the next few years."
The restructure of the international executive has resulted in the amalgamation of the regional managing partner roles for Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Germany into one Continental Europe role. Meanwhile, Lovells' five practice stream heads have been reduced to four with the head of the firm's projects practice being absorbed into the other streams.
As reported on www. thelawyer.com (27 October) Frankfurt-based litigation partner Harald Seisler has been appointed regional managing partner for Continental Europe.
Meanwhile, dispute resolution partner Ruth Grant has taken over from Russell Sleigh as the regional managing partner for London.
Düsseldorf-based IP partner Andreas von Falck completes the line-up as the new practice stream leader for commerce.
