Eversheds' French corporate head" /> Lovells has boosted its Paris private equity practice with the hire of Eversheds French corporate head Pascal de Moidrey.
The appointment marks Lovells' eleventh lateral hire so far this year and comes on the heels of partner Jürgen Witte's addition to the German dispute resolution team (www.thelawyer.com, 14 June). Witte joined the firm's Düsseldorf office with a counsel and an associate from German independent firm Aderhold von Dalwigk Knüppel.
Lovells Paris managing partner Philippe Thomas said: "The private equity practice has been one of the main axes of development for our corporate practice and we took the opportunity to hire a younger guy who would help us consolidate our position with that practice."
De Moidrey, who is set to join Lovells in August, will bring colleague Edith Boucaya as counsel. After training at Moquet Borde & Associés, de Moidrey spent time at Gide Loyrette Nouel. He left Gide in 1997 to co-found Latournerie Wolfrom & Associés before joining Eversheds in 2003.
He has represented mezzanine funds such as Capzanine, and other private equity players such as BBS Capital, BNP Paribas, CIC, CréAdev, Crédit Lyonnais Private Equity and IDI. On the back of his private equity work, de Moidrey has built relationships with portfolio companies such as internet services provider Free, telecoms company OneAccess and drilling services provider Dietswell Engineering.
Boucaya, who also specialises in private equity, has spent her entire career at Eversheds.
At Lovells the pair will work alongside Paris-based private equity partners Jon Harry, Alexis Terray and Monique Sentilles-Dupont.
At Eversheds the Paris corporate head role will be filled on an interim basis by Antoine Martin and Jacques Messeca.
