Lovells hires Rütgers CEO in Düsseldorf

Lovells is recruiting its second German partner in less than a month as the former chief executive of long-standing client Rütgers joins its Düsseldorf office.

Eberhard von Perfall is joining the firm as a partner but will also hold a consultancy role at Lovells, specialising in corporate and tax law.

Roland Bomhard, managing partner at Lovells' Düsseldorf office, says: "When the time came for him to step down as CEO we approached him to explain our plans."

Von Perfall has spent most of his career working for corporations as an in-house lawyer or board member. But Bomhard says: "He will be working on ongoing M&A deals or ongoing transactions link-ed to corporate and tax work."

"He still sits on the board of some very powerful companies. The fact that he does and is a powerful person will raise our profile."
