Lovells has bolstered its tax practice with the hire of Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw (MBR&M) partner Trefor John as head of the tax knowledge management team.
John, who joined Lovells on 1 November, will be responsible for providing a centrally managed and coordinated source of information on taxation and tax-related legislation to the tax practice.
He was previously a partner in MBR&M’s corporate tax practice, specialising in share sales and acquisitions, reorganisations, international tax planning and financing and leasing transactions. Prior to that, he was a partner at Stephenson Harwood.
John’s appointment boosts Lovells’ tax practice to 20 partners worldwide and follows a quiet spell for the practice, with the most recent hires being Domenico Borzumato and Serena Pietrosanti, who joined the firm’s Italian tax practice in July 2003.
