Lovells has ended a bad run for its international network on brighter note, welcoming a new partner for its Italian office from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Marco Lantelme, a former senior finance associate at Freshfields, will launch an Italian capital markets and securitisation practice from Lovell’s Milan office. The firm is also understood to be planning other senior hires in Italy.
The move comes after a major blow for Lovells’ Asian practice after the region’s corporate head Greg Terry left for Morgan Stanley.
It had been expected that Terry would stay at the firm for three years, until Lovells’ mandatory retirement age of 62 years old after which the Asia group have expanded. However Terry, who joined Lovells from Jardine Matheson, left after just one year.
