Lord Lester of Herne Hill QC is at the forefront of the launch of a new group aimed at helping lawyers to use and understand human rights law
The Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA) will be launched next Thursday (27 February) by barristers, solicitors, academics and other lawyers at the Parliament Chamber of the Inner Temple. Lord Lester, who campaigned for thirty years for a Human Rights Act, is president designate of the new association. Charles Bourne of Henderson Chambers, 2 Harcourt Buildings, will be chairman. The groups aim is to provide a focal point for specialists working in different areas and disciplines to share knowledge, experience and ideas about human rights law through lectures, seminars and workshops.
