The Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith QC, is set to lead the government’s defence of the ban on hunting.
The Countryside Alliance announced in December that it was bringing a case against the government to prevent the ban’s implementation. Today (17 January) the League Against Cruel Sports was granted an order by Mr Justice Collins allowing it to intervene in the case in support of the ban.
