  • Lord chief Justice Fights Govt's Judiciary Intrusion.

I not only agree with Lord Phillip's argument, I also believe very strongly that Government should not have a say on who is to become Attorney General. It is so very important that the people see the Judiciary as completely independent. Many people have lost faith in Government and the Parliamentary system at present, it is therefore very important that these same people can rely on a fair trial without fear or favour. That Judges still have the Royal Coat of Arms behind their chair is of some comfort, but that too would mean nothing if any Government had a hand (or voice) in choosing who shall sit in that chair.
