US firm Locke Lord has hired a lawyer from Berkeley House Investments to join its nascent London office.
Jonathan Denton will join the firm as a partner from private lender Berkeley House, where he was in-house counsel. Before joining Berkeley House, Denton was a finance partner at Salans’ City office – where most of Locke Lord’s London team hails from.
Denton specialises in financial services and banking issues, advising financial institutions.
Locke Lord opened in London in January 2012 after former Salans global managing partner Roger Abrahams took a team of nine lawyers from Salans’ London office for the launch (7 November 2012). Commercial litigator Joseph Kosky, a partner at Ashfords legacy firm Rochman Landau, also joined.
However, one of the partners originally scheduled to join Locke Lord from Salans – consumer finance partner Bill McCaffrey – ended up joining CMS Cameron McKenna instead (13 February 2012).
Locke Lord has 650 lawyers across offices in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Sacramento, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
