Location, location, location

Tired of yet more advice on a debt-for-equity swap? Does the prospect of being locked in the data room bore you to tears? Then allow Tulkinghorn to point you in the direction of an ad for a senior legal consultant placed in the hallowed pages of The Lawyer by recruiter TRC.

They’re not fussy: you can come from a corporate, projects or commercial background.

The ad claimed that the job was “perfect for any lawyer looking for adventure and the chance to escape the monotony of a conventional law firm.”
The location? None other than the Federal Republic of Kurdistan, Iraq. Just imagine: sun, sand and plenty of… er, soldiers.

This didn’t escape the attention of the broadsheets, with at least one columnist wryly pointing out the attractions of such a posting.
Still, there are worse positions out there, such as at Reed Smith‘s new ‘Birmingham’ offices, or DLA Piper‘s next targeted market – Antarctica.
