LIU Europe creates chief counsel role

Insurance company Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe) has appointed Nigel Davenport to the newly created position of chief counsel.
Davenport has joined Liberty from his previous position as deputy general counsel at First Title Insurance. He will provide advice to Liberty management in the UK and Europe from firm’s London base.
Davenport also worked for 10 years as a senior lawyer, with a focus on insurance, at Eversheds.
LIU Europe’s chief executive said: “This is a new role for us and reflects the growing development of our business here in the UK and Europe and the need to have our own legal resource.”
