A property development company which claims to have lost more than £100,000 after its selling agents took a secret profit and failed to pass on a higher bid is suing for compensation. Amalgamated Berkshire Developments has issued a High Court writ against Duncan Fletcher, of Sandon, Essex, and Ricketts Boreham Bliss, of Bow, London E3. The writ claims Amalgamated agreed to sell property in Bow, London, for £750,000, but was not informed of a bid of £850,000. Now Amalgamated seeks damages for breach of contract and fiduciary duty, and an account of any secret profits, or other benefits, and interest.

Coleman UK, Bristol, is being sued by British Rail for £43,545.90 and £11.62 a day interest in respect of rent due on leases.

Ruislip widow, Josephine Durkan, whose husband died after a road accident, is suing Thomas Henry Trevor Thomas of Southend on Sea, who she blames for the accident, for damages. The accident happened on the A303 in Hampshire, in November 1993.

Writ issued by Portner & Jaskel, London W1

Soho Estates is being sued by property investment consultancy Agency Register Information Computer Service, trad- ing as Sint Associates, of Stanmore, Middlesex, for unpaid commission on the sale of a £4.25m property. Sint seeks more than £49,000, with interest of £470.85 and continuing interest of £10.95 a day. The property concerned is Cameo House, Bear Street, London.

A Welshpool man is suing the Commissioners of Customs & Excise in a bid to recover videos, leaflets and photos which he claims were wrongfully seized. Jeffrey Owen claims in his writ that four Customs & Excise officers wrongfully took his property, which had been imported into the UK from abroad for his own personal purposes. He is seeking a court order for its return along with damages for trespass to his property. He claims the items were seized by customs officials at Mount Pleasant Postal Depot in London EC1, on 21 September 1995, and at Dover Postal Depot on 13 November 1995.
