A major action by 115 people against First Choice Holidays and First Choice Flights is heading for the High Court. The plaintiffs seek damages for holidays on the Caribbean island of San Andres and accuse the companies of failing to meet their obligations under the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tour Regulations 1992. They will argue they were induced to enter the holiday contracts as a result of misrepresentations.
Hotel fire terror writ
Negligence claims against Thomson Tour Operations are to be aired in the High Court. The company is being sued by a couple whose holiday in Spain ended in terror when fire broke out at the hotel in which they were staying. Keith and Toni Austin, of Romford, Essex, claim that because fire alarms did not work they had to alert residents to the danger.
