Injuries: Oxygen starvation at birth; claimant totally reliant on parents and carers in all aspects of life; cannot sit unsupported, crawl or walk; hearing normal but eyesight not perfect; despite this claimant has been taught to read, write and draw and can communicate through these mediums

Lines v Crisp - QBD, 2 July 1996

Claimant: Colin Lines (43 years)

Incident: Medical Negligence

Injuries: Claim on behalf of claimant following death of wife, Janet, 35 from cancer; defendant allegedly failed to spot seriousness of Lines' bladder cancer and treat it accordingly; contended she should have been referred for radio-therapy rather than treated conservatively; defendant made "open admission of liability" in case but contended more radical treatment would not have saved Lines; claimant to receive £3,500 with further £1,500 being put into trust for children
