Injuries: Claimant, a blind quadriplegic boy, was left severely brain damaged after negligent hospital care at Dryburn Hospital, Durham, in April 1983. He suffered dehydration after being diagnosed with gastroenteritis and as a result was left with severe acquired cerebral palsy. He cannot move any of his limbs and is unable to sit up
