Linnells in corporate boost with Farrers hire

Foster brings M&A and joint venture experience for publishing, software, media and retail clients and secured loan experience for property and commercial companies, including US and Canadian companies investing in the UK. He has also worked in the charity and sports sector.
Linnells senior partner Jonathan Lloyd-Jones said that the firm spoke to Foster a few years ago, but agreed that it was not the right time for him to make the move.
However, he said he now wants to take full advantage of the corporate slowdown in London. "We see this as a time for investment for when the market picks up," he said.
Foster gives Linnells a private equity capability, but Lloyd-Jones said that he does not expect Foster to bring private equity clients with him. "But he will have relationships," he added.
Linnells is advising on secured lending for the Bank of Scotland and NatWest. It is also being instructed by Danish company Temper on a $115m (£79m) refinancing.
