Links on hunt for corporate chief as Barnes steps down

Last month, The Lawyer reported that current managing partner for the Americas John Tucker will also hand over the reins in April (25 January 2010), while Robert Elliott’s term as global head of banking and Tony Bugg’s as insolvency chief are also coming to an end.

The magic circle firm’s executive committee, headed by managing partner Simon Davies, will launch discussions on the future of the roles in the coming weeks.

Decisions on all the positions will then be made in April, with the corporate job likely to excite most interest. Charlie Jacobs and Jeremy Parr are among the names being touted by insiders at the firm as likely successors to Barnes.
