Linklaters has appointed Michael Guilday as head of its Asian investment management group (IMG) following the departure of Graham Turl in April.
Guilday, who was senior managing associate in Linklaters' London investment management group from 2002 to 2004, rejoins the firm following a three-year stint with Australian-based firm Allens Arthur Robinson, where he was senior associate in the firm's corporate and commercial department.
He joins a team of five IMG lawyers in Hong Kong and will also work with six lawyers involved with funds-related work across Asia.
Giles White, managing partner of Linklaters Asia, said that Guilday will build the firm's investment management capability in Asia, which is a key growth area for the firm.
Turl, who had worked on the London Stock Exchange's first collateralised debt obligation and real estate fund, left the magic circle firm to join fund management outfit BlackRock in Hong Kong.
