It’s like musical chairs at Linklaters at the moment.

The steady recruitment campaign of mid-tier US lawyers continues in the US, as first reported by The Lawyer yesterday. (King & Spalding head of private funds Stephen Culhane is a solid hire, but it probably won’t have Wachtell or Sullivan quaking in their boots just yet.) The real fun is in Asia.

Following the news that superstar Asia head Simon Davies is to return to London, it has emerged today that it takes not one lawyer to replace him but two.

Davies has revolutionised Linklaters’ Asia operations to such an extent that, in addition to finance head Giles White flying out to replace him as Asia head, the firm is also relocating senior capital markets partner Nigel Pridmore to Honkers.

That’s some legacy.
