Linklaters chief financial officer Nick Heywood-Waddington has left the firm to join White & Case as chief operating officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea).
Heywood-Waddington spent 10 years at Linklaters after joining from Deloitte & Touche in 1998 and was responsible for the financial management of the firm.
It is understood that when he joined the firm he negotiated a pay package that was linked to the firm’s lockstep and that he was earning the equivalent of a plateau partner’s income at the time of his departure.
Heywood-Waddington’s appointment at White & Case comes as the firm overhauls its global management team. He will sit on the firm’s new-look Emea operations council along with six others, including London-based projects
co-head Philip Stopford.
Linklaters is yet to announce a replacement for Heywood-Waddington.
