Links bolsters Madrid public law dept

Linklaters has appointed José Giménez to lead the firm’s public law and regulated sectors capability in Madrid.
He will join the firm today (Monday 26 October) from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, where he was a partner. Giménez is a state advocate with senior status in the state’s legal service, where he practised for 10 years, ultimately as secretary general of the Spanish Telecommunications Market Commission.
This comes as the firm seeks to build up its Spanish capability after a three-partner team left for Herbert Smith’s new Madrid office in April. In May Linklaters appointed litigation partner Francisco Málaga from Cuatrecasas.
