Linklaters and Rosenblatt Solicitors claimed the prize mandates acting on the e125m (£104.56m) sale of Channel 5 to Daily Express owner Richard Desmond’s Northern & Shell publishing group.
Rosenblatt advised longstanding client Desmond on the transaction, with corporate partner Jon Lovitt leading the team. Seller RTL Group turned to Linklaters, with relationship partner Roger Barron and corporate partner Clodagh Hayes leading on the matter. Rosenblatt has advised Desmond since 1983, while Linklaters has also acted for the newspaper magnate. In 2000 the magic circle firm advised on his original purchase of Express Newspapers.
