Linklaters wins new Dubai client after P&O bid

Linklaters has landed Dubai-based container terminal operator DP World as a new client after advising it on its £3.19bn recommended bid for P&O.
It is understood that the magic circle firm won the mandate to advise DP World following a beauty parade and thanks to a recommendation from Deutsche Bank.
The all-cash offer, which was announced earlier today (29 November) will be implemented through a scheme of arrangement under Section 425 of the Companies Act 1985.
The Linklaters team is led by corporate partners David Cheyne and Jeremy Parr. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer corporate partner Mark Rawlinson is advising P&O.
