Linklaters turns up heat in NY with another Shearman hire

Linklaters’ New York office has returned to Shearman & Sterling for new recruits, this time taking on the former co-head of the US firm’s securitisation and derivatives group.

Gary Barnett joins Linklaters as a partner and will be reunited with his former colleague, litigation expert Paul Wickes who joined Linklaters in July last year. Since his move Wickes has been appointed as head of the New York office and national managing partner.

The firm has been making a number of hires recently including restructuring and insolvency partner Mark Palmer who joined from Stroock & Stroock and Lavan while just over a year ago, Linklaters recruited another restructuring and insolvency partner, Martin Flics, from Latham & Watkins.
