Linklaters tops 2007 IPO chart

Linklaters has been ranked first in a global survey of IPO transactions for the first quarter (Q1) of 2007.

The preliminary Bloomberg League Adviser League Tables for 2007 Q1 rank firms by volume of deals.

Linklaters came first in the global equity IPO manager adviser category with eight deals and a volume of deals totalling $3.11bn (£1.58bn).

Deals include hedge fund Brevan Howard's flotation of investment vehicle BH Macro and Sports Direct International's flotation.

While Linklaters moved one place up on last year, Clifford Chance has seen a dramatic increase, moving from ninth place to second, having advised lead managers on three IPOs.

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom came top of the table, ranked by volume in US dollars, in the equity IPO issuer adviser category with 10 deals. Second-placed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer had three deals and Latham & Watkins ranked third with 12 IPOs.
