Linklaters seals hire of first lateral partner in Sweden

Linklaters Sweden has netted a Hannes Snellman partner in what is now the firm’s first lateral hire in the Nordic practice.

Private equity specialist Roger Johnson will join Linklaters Stockholm as a partner at the beginning of next year.

Johnson has been a partner at Hannes Snellman since 2009. He previously worked at Linklaters’ Stockholm office between 2002 and 2009.

He has experience working for private equity houses and financial institutions, including restructuring and insolvency work. His client base has comprised both equity investors and funds investing in distressed debt.

The news follows a number of departures from the Linklaters office. In May 2010 The Lawyer reported that the partnership headcount had dropped from 35 to nine partners since the firm entered Sweden in 2000 (17 May 2010).

In the first few months of 2010 partners Martin Börresen and Peter Högström left for Ashurst and Lindahl respectively.

In April 2010 Roschier recruited counsel Björn Winströ from Linklaters (28 April 2010).
